Ashley Dear
Course Manager
Ashley is the Course Manager for both of the MSc courses as well as the BSc Top-up in Zoo management.
Ashley has worked in animal collections at educational establishments for a number of years where, although working with a wide variety of species, his focus lied within Herpetology and Entomology.
Ashley’s academic experience has mostly surrounded Zoology with a particular focus on Entomology, Evolutionary Biology, Zoo Management and Statistics for Biosciences. Ashley is now completing a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with the University of Reading.
Ashley teaches on both the undergraduate and the postgraduate research project modules and supervises students on topics surrounding Zoology, Zoo management, Entomology and Ecology.
Research Interests:
Entomology, Entomophagy, Phenotypic plasticity, Public education and engagement, Herpetology enrichment.
