Naomi Allan
Level 5 HE Course Manager and a Lecturer in the Veterinary Nursing Department
Naomi studied at Askham Bryan herself to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse,
Upon qualifying, Naomi has worked in the Veterinary industry becoming a Head Veterinary Nurse, where she also helped students achieve their placement year and nursing progress log. She has also worked as an Emergency and Critical Care Nurse in industry.
She has a keen interest in animal behaviour and is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour which is proving very useful for a cheeky Cocker Spaniel rescue she has adopted.
Naomi delivers multiple modules to include Pharmacology, Companion Animal Behaviour, Business Skills and Practice Management, Surgical Nursing and Introduction to Anaesthesia, Clinical Care and Nutrition Assessment and Emergency and Critical Care. Naomi also supervises research projects for the Veterinary Nursing students in their final year of study.
Research Interests:
Veterinary nursing care, Intensive care nursing, Pain management, Practice management and Veterinary business. Clinical Animal Behaviour within the Veterinary setting.
