Rana Parween

Curriculum Co-ordinator - Mammalian Science, Course Manager – BSc Animal Bioscience and Management

Rana is an experienced academic with a demonstrated history of working in higher education within the UK as well as in the Middle East.

Rana is skilled in the development of education programmes at all levels, as well as lecturing and associated tasks. Rana has led, and contributed to curriculum design and its development at her own institution as well as several other national and international institutions. With a strong educational background, Rana also holds a PGCE and a PhD from the department of Environment and Geography, University of York, UK.
With her multilinguistic abilities, Rana has a strong passion for supporting learning in a variety of setups, where her skills, knowledge and experience could be used to its fullest.

Rana is a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE, as well as external examiner for various universities with national and international partnership. As a UK QAA subject expert, Rana has contributed to the writing of QAA Benchmark Statement for Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Environmental Studies, Bioscience and Biomedical Sciences Courses, and Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Food, Nutrition and Consumer Science. Rana is also an Academic Consultant for University of Hull.

Citations and Public Presentations:

  1. Chapter in the Handbook titled β€œShaping a Sustainable Future: Innovative Teaching Practices for Educating Responsible Leaders”. The Handbook is developed in the frame of Erasmus+ EFFORT project. EFFORT (EFFectiveness Of Responsibility Teaching) is a cooperative project co-funded under the Erasmus+ KA2 framework that includes six European partners (HWR Berlin (Germany), University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Spain), University of Bari Aldo Moro (Italy), CBS International Business School (Germany), Budapest Business School (Hungary) and LUT University (Finland). The project mainly aimed at developing tools and guidelines that support higher education institutions to increase the effectiveness of sustainability-, business ethics- and CSR-related teaching.
