Rowntree’s Park offers gorgeous fields perfect for games and BBQ’s. The heart of Rowntree’s is the Millennium Bridge directly over the River Ouse, a lovely spot for photos.

Museum Gardens

Museum Gardens offers beautiful botanical gardens for picnics, amazing flower beds, and has the stunning ruins of St Marys Abbey adjacent to the River Ouse.

City Walls

Of course, there is also the famous City Walls surrounding the York City Centre. Spreading out two miles, York has more miles of intact wall than any other city in England. This is a perfect walk location and offers some great views of the city including The Minster.

Fancy a bike ride? Why not ride around the Solar System! This cycle route is a scale model, starting with the sun. The journey is a 6 mile off road route, almost entirely traffic free.
