Foundation Learning
We have access to a range of learning areas including equine, animal care, agriculture and conservation across our York and Middlesbrough campuses.
Level 1 Certificate in Animal Care
This course will provide you with a foundation and focus on key skills to start your pathway to further vocational skills training or work.
Animal Care Level 2 (York,Middlesbrough, Saltaire and Wakefield)
On this course students will learn about animal care and develop the skills needed to care for and handle a variety of animals.
Animal Management Level 3 – T Level Foundation Year
A one year Level 3 course studying a variety of animal related modules such as Health & Husbandry, Animal Biology, Animal Handling.
T Level: Animal Care and Management (Behaviour or Science)
On this course students will learn about animal care and develop the skills needed to care for and handle a variety of animals.
Practical Animal Care Skills Level 3
Learners will gain practical skills, develop sound working practices, and gain industry knowledge to help progression into higher levels of learning or into employment within the animal care sector.
Extended FdSc Canine, Feline Behaviour and Training
This programme is aimed at those wanting to work in the canine and feline behaviour and training sector in industries such as assistance and working dog training and behavioural consultancy and welfare.
Extended FdSc Animal Science with Management
This programme is aimed at those wanting to work in the animal management sector in industries as varied as animal welfare, production, education, companion animals and training to name a few.
Extended FdSc Management of Animal Collections with Conservation
This programme is aimed at those wanting to work in conservation and animal collection management. The course will provide students with underpinning knowledge of animal husbandry, welfare, behaviour, training and conservation.
FdSc Animal Science with Management
You will gain experience in practical skills such as animal handling, health checking, monitoring and evaluating behaviour, training animals, design and maintenance of animal accommodation and assessing animal welfare.
