Industry experience is predominantly in zoo husbandry and education, where he delivered education programmes to school groups before moving into academia
Joe is a member of the Association of British Wild Animal Keepers and has attended both ABWAK and British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums conferences.
He is the module leader for Collections Management, Incubation & Rearing, Enclosure Design & Stock Management, Practical Animal Health & Husbandry and co-teaches on Collections Husbandry and Fundamentals of Biological Sciences. His dissertation focused on the Public Perception of Spotted Hyenas. Joe supervises the undergraduate and animal science students in the field of zoo animal welfare, enclosure utilisation and technology in zoos.
